Fiona’s current bedtime reading is set in the world of Egyptology, whilst fascinating in itself, the writer describes that the ancient Egyptians believed that before creation there was only unity, no death, no birth, no light, no darkness, no earth, no sky. It made her think how universal some of the beliefs are across different religions and cultures, and commonality with others when we often see only differences.
New members of the congregation clearly won’t know the past involvement of those who have gone before, the foundations and strength of our current congregation are thanks to their input. It is up to us all to keep the momentum going because a thriving, growing congregation at St Mary’s is our own Legacy.
