Zoom Social – 1st December

Lovely to see everyone yesterday. I hope everyone was happy with the room split.

Hopefully it gives everyone a chance to join in.
I now have 9 other people who are unable to join us for various reason. I am keeping in touch with them via email or letter letting them know the content of our get togethers.

Rector asked me to mention about his search for people to help with the opening of the Toilets on Dec 24th and 25th.If anyone has ideas about this please contact him 01625 585 440.

I am sure everybody is aware Church Services start again on the 6th Dec, followed by Dec 13th.
On the 13th there will be scratch choir who will sing 3 carols. When the Church is open on these occasions it might be an opportunity to take food for Oasis and leave it for Lesley. You do not need to attend attend the services if you do not feel ready to do so. Lesley will be going the week before Christmas. Please help with this if you can, there is desperate need.

Thank you to everybody who has produced Men’s clothes for Oasis. The ones I am specially aware of have gone to Maureen’s. Her family have helped by taking them to Oasis.

I will send separately the information from Chris Sweetman regarding wreaths.

On Dec.17th there is a Mothers Union Carol Service on the MU Facebook page.It is at 7.30.
Our members will be aware of it.It is felt others might be interested.

Elizabeth Fairhurst told us of 2 books she has read recently. The Music Shop by Elizabeth Joyce, this is about a community helping each other in hard times. I also enjoyed this.
The other is Tidelands by Philipa Gregory. Set in 1648. In Tidelands Sussex Villages. The fight for survival.
If any one else has read anything the enjoyed do bring the details.

Maureen is reading about John Bercow. Full of interesting information about life behind the scenes in parliament including protocol.

Look forward to next week.

Fiona will send the Zoom connection. Will be under the invitation of St Mary’s now. Mark has set up a Church account.

Love Janet X
