Churchwardens Report
Item 11 on the Agenda for the APC meeting.
Generally speaking the fabric of the Church is in good order. The Sites and Buildings committee at each meeting look at the maintenance plan for the next three months and initiate action on it by members of the committee or contractors.
The problem at the back of the north aisle where there are leaks in the roof when it is heavy rain and wind in a certain direction continues but investigations have proved that only re roofing the north aisle will solve the problem and because of the cost that has been put on one side.
We had an incident last December when a small amount of lead on the lower south facing roof was stolen. This has been replaced.
No new items were purchased for the Church.
Plans for extending the Church car park northwards towards the stream were deemed not viable. The Sites and Buildings committee are now looking at a more modest approach of extending the current car park eastwards.
The Churchwardens and the Sites and Buildings Committee are responsible for the upkeep of the Church and it’s grounds. They are very mindful of this duty and do everything they can to maintain a high standard.
